Historically, content distribution had been somewhat challenging, as Hearst did not have an integrated system to build and send feeds. We had a team of people relying on nightly reports with partial visibility into the detailed reasons a record might be ineligible for a partner. We had no visibility into unsupported embeds, either in reporting or in the app. We built automatic feeds that sent too little or too much content.
Howdy was designed to provide an outwardly simple, elegant solution to these very complex issues. From the user’s POV, it’s pretty simple: they set up a partner and answer a few questions about the outputs required to get the desired image shape/size, and to determine which embeds are supported. Best of all, when you add content to the feed, Howdy’s search immediately shows you the ideal content to send to your partner, so you spend less time poring over spreadsheets.
